AME is the First Lifelong Learning Institution in Singapore that caters specifically for the seniors above 45 years old. It was inaugurated on 13 October 2007 and has attracted more than 300 students into our programmes for the past three years.
We offer courses and activities of various interests, ranging from hobbies to professional courses to meet different individuals’ needs.
Our courses are crafted from the perspective of seniors. They are primarily activity-based, designed to be fun, exciting and relaxing. Celebrities are often invited to give talks to our students, which add colours into our programmes.
Activities such as Overseas Exchange Programme with Peking University and Educational Tour to Europe were some of the out-of-classroom learning we organised to enrich the lives of our students.
Students are also encouraged to lead initiatives such as community work or service learning, publication and toastmaster. These activities often help to foster friendships and build bonds. The communal spirit forms an integrated part of learning and support within AME.
At AME, we believe in holistic development. We seek and develop platforms to reinforce learning. Our students are often invited to perform and showcase their talents in many high-profile public events.
Through our programmes, our students will gather courage to venture new grounds, find a new lease in life and pursue dreams that they have never dreamt before………
